Aims
To creatively connect communities to their local culture: intangible cultural heritage, history, literature
To stimulate participation and bring together local activists and organisations
To record aspects of local culture - songs, stories, dances, traditions
To affirm the work of local practitioners
The People’s Parish in Kinross, led by fieldworker Esther Kent along with Dougie MacKay, ran from autumn 2021-2022.
Working with local partners and contact organisations, the fieldworkers undertook action research that included:
mapmaking and storytelling
crafting map blocks
a community survey
an ABC of local distinctiveness
clever wish
This research yielded a variety of creative community productions:

Community Celebration: an evening of music, song and story with contributions from community groups and individuals
