Led by fieldworker Sarah McFayden with Karine Polwart and Sophie Bancroft, the Pathhead project, nestled on the borders of the historic parishes of Crichton, Cranston, and Borthwick, in 2024.
Working alongside a wide network of partners and contact organisations, including Tynewater Primary School and the Pathhead Youth Project, community members engaged in a breadth of action research, including:

A-Z of local distinctiveness,
community cafe in the primary school,
youth project animation and film workshop
The Pathhead project culminated with productions deeply rooted in community collaboration:
2 x Marvellous Maps of the area which highlight areas of importance for P5 pupils
posters and tea towels of the maps
a permanent outdoor signpost of the maps
A-Z crankie, film & animation documentary by the Pathhead Youth Project called “Welcome To Pathhead”
community concert, + influenced the making and development of a new curriculum for Tynewater Primary School about the locality.
